As the only children’s hospital between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia fully equipped to treat the most severely ill children, the families of our community no longer have to travel across the state for specialized medical care. Penn State Children’s Hospital’s new facilities provide more space to help more young patients heal.
NEW SIXTH FLOOR: Pediatric Acute Care Unit and Postpartum Unit
These units include postpartum rooms, a well-baby nursery and inpatient acute pediatric beds, along with a family waiting area, team care stations and administrative suites.
NEW SEVENTH FLOOR: Labor and Delivery, Triage, Postpartum and Antepartum
Labor and Delivery and C-section operating rooms are located on the west side of the seventh floor. The east side houses our ante- and postpartum rooms and another well-baby nursery.
NEW EIGHTH FLOOR: Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Our neonatal ICU provides the highest level of critical care to newborns. This floor also houses our milk lab drop and storage area, open bay rooms with bassinets, private rooms and rooms for twins and triplets.
